For the past year, we have observed the demolition of the Palast der Republik using the webcam situated on the top of the Deutsche Historisches Museum. Above, on the left, you can see the site one year ago and on the right as it was just before we set out for Berlin.
While we were in Berlin, the final piece, the fourth staircase, was brought down leaving a vast open space on which a replica of the original Schloss Palast will be built over the next few years.
